This is the second replacement I've put in my Panasonic PT-AE900U projector. I ran the original bulb for 3000 hours in low mode and the first replacement bulb for 2000 hours in high mode. Like another reviewer here I measured the lux of the old bulb (87) and the lux of this new bulb (142) in high mode. This wasn't a true ANSI measurement since I just used the reading at the center of the screen but it still gave an indication of the percentage change from old to new. The larger the screen (mine is 120") the lower the lux since the light output has to be spread over a larger area, a 100" screen would give higher readings.

If you've never replaced a Panasonic bulb it's a pretty simple task, the instructions are included in the box as is a new filter. There were no pictures from customers for this item so I added a couple to show that the module is indeed OEM Panasonic and made in Japan. I've never had a problem with a Panasonic bulb so perhaps I've been lucky but their better QC makes buying OEM the way to go. I am pleased to see my picture bright and punchy once again and I have delayed upgrading to a new projector until I see what's new in the Fall (2011). I was getting anxious to move up to 1080p but the picture on this projector still looks very good and still wows friends and relatives.

Having experience replacing bulbs on my Panasonic AE 900 2 times before I've learned an important lesson, DO NOT SETTLE FOR OEM REPLACEMENT BULBS.....the original panasonic bulb will cost you more than twice as much, but if you use your projector as much as I do it's definitely worth it......very happy to get what I expected, original Panasonic bulb and a replacement filter.....very satisfied., i purchased from Amazon, LLC.....you will not be disappointed.
