We purchased this based on several good reviews. The trimmer arrived fully assembled except for the shield at the cutting head. Attachment of the shield was easy using the wrench (stamped steel) provided with the trimmer. A small bottle of Husqvarna brand oil was also included in the box. We prefer to use another brand we already use on air-cooled pre-mix two-cycle engines. The instructions are well written and indicate that carburetor idle settings will need to be re-adjusted once the engine has run-in. The initial settings seem spot on. The trimmer started on the second pull (just pressed primer bulb a few times and set the choke). Engine idling is perfect and the cutter head stops rotating when the engine is at idle. The trimmer seems well balanced and the vibration level acceptable. Ergonomics are good - I'm 6'1" and my wife is 5'4" and it feels fine to both of us. Abundant power. Noise level is higher than many, but not unreasonable. We use the Peltor H10A Optime 105 Over-the-Head Earmuff hearing protectors and the noise level is fine. Overall initial impression is good and would recommend this purchase.

I just bought the 223L to replace a 5 year old, lightly used Echo SRM-210i which froze-up (piston is hung in the cylinder). Wished I had bought the Husqvarna when I bought the Echo.
Pros:
* Easy to start and stay running. (The Echo would start easy but it would tend to stall (and sometimes quit until it warmed up.)
* Very lightweight.
* Easy to maneuver - it just glides across the ground.
* Powerful - this machine cuts through 1/4" brush with no problems using stock string.
Cons: Only has a two year warranty compared to Echo's 5 years. However, the place I bought the Husq (Home Improvement store starting with L) had a 3 extended warranty for $39. The total price of the Husqvarna and the extended warranty was about in line with Echo's compatible model (which has a smaller engine).

I have a lot of acreage on steep terrain and need a reliable trimmer to keep the fuel load (grasses and brush) down. I've gone through 3 trimmers previous and bought this one based on the reviews. I'm glad I did. It is durable and works like a charm!
