HIS H695QNT2G2M Review
HIS H695QNT2G2M Review by A Calm Observer (Earth)
I bought this card to add to an existing 6950 for a crossfire set-up based on the other great reviews and specs. It worked fine for a few days, then the errors started, the BSODs whenever Eyefinity was activated and this card had to pick up some of the load from the primary. I was still assuming this was probably just due to driver bugs or a configuration mistake on my part. Eyefinity setup documenation is close to nonexistant and online forums are full of contradictions -- always use 2 bridges, never use 2 bridges, etc. Most games don't support eyefinity so you have to rely on third-party tools of unknown quality since the graphics cards vendors don't think they should actually make it easy to use their products. Regardless, I thought software issues would be worked out so I didn't think much of the troubles at first. On Day 31 though the card died completely -- trying to boot my machine with just this card installed resulted in the fan going to max and no output. One day too late to return to Amazon. Now I get to pay to ship this card to California so they can decide if they want to fix it.
HIS H695QNT2G2M Review by WINTER
I think this card is very close to perfection in a 6950. I pretty much echo the previous two reviewers observations and opinions. This is a phenominal looking card... all of the IceQ X cards in this style are. With the case lighting I have, the four heatpipes catch and reflect the light. And this card runs even better than it looks. She is a monster and can handle anything I throw at it and want more. This is my third HIS IceQ X Turbo card, and the quality, build, performance and features are what keep my comming back. I have 2 HIS IceQ X 6850's in crossfire, and this card will soon follow. In AMD Vision Control, under AMD Overdrive, you can adjust the GPU, Memory and Power settings even higher. The GPU clock will hit 900MHz.
I ran benchmarks on Lost Planet 2 in DX 11, with all the settings cranked up. The average on that game was 31 FPS.
Same on the free Dirt 3 game included. All settings at max and 60 FPS.
Both games run and play flawlessly, and are just visually stunning. Watching Blu Rays, DVD's and streaming video is spectacular as well. I have this hooked up to a 26" 1080p LED TV and it is a pleasure to watch.
I highly recommend this card, and think HIS makes some of the best, if not the best cards on the market. The aesthetics, performance, features and quality can't be beat. For the price vs. performance ratio, HIS cards are top of the line.

HIS H695QNT2G2M Review by J. Neves (New Jersey)
Let me start off by saying: what a card! I was building what was essentially a new computer as my older one I built in 2007 would not be able to handle the game I was looking forward to for a year: Battlefield 3. After doing plenty of research on a video card, I decided to jump on the Radeon 6950 instead of the 6970 for two reasons: 1) a good amount of 6950's (at least when I bought it) were able to have their shaders unlocked to essentially make them a 6970 and, 2) price difference.
Needless to say, I could not be happier with this card, which I chose over others for its cooling capabilities with its IceQ technology, which works wonders (more on that later). Nonetheless, once I received my card I became curious to see if the card was able to have its shaders unlocked to equal those of the 6970 (1536 shaders) and to my amazement, and thanks to the website techpowerup, I successfully flashed the BIOS of this card and unlocked the remaining shaders which essentially made this card a Radeon 6970.
Needless to say, I tinkered with overclocking the card for roughly 2 weeks and after dozens of crashes, PC freezes and restarts, I was able to successfully overclock it to 950mhz/1375mhz at 1.2v with power control at +20 using AMD's Control Center, which compares to the default speeds of this card which are 840mhz/1280mhz at 1.1v. To my amazement, at 950/1375 speeds at 1.2v, this video card does not go past 71 degrees celcius with fanspeed at only 63%, all thanks to the IceQ fan HIS runs with this card. Be aware that after 55% fan speed, give or take, you can notice the fan noise just a tad but for me its not an issue because it only gets to that point when I am playing BF3 and I have a headset on when that happens *Tip: I strongly recommend you download and use MSI Afterburner to overclock this card and more importantly, use Afterburner's custom fan control profile so you can tell the fan at what speed to run when it reaches certain temperatures so the card does not overheat*
In real world terms, I ran a benchmark with Battlefield 3 using Fraps in-game and my average FPS in BF3 went from 68.5 to 79.9, which is an amazing improvement which you can definitely notice in-game, especially during heavy gunfights (I did not tinker with BF3 video settings; it is set to auto and half the settings are ultra and the other half are high running at 1920x1080).
In conclusion, I cannot guarantee that the newer shipements of this card can be unlocked to 6970 shaders as HIS may have locked the BIOS, but from what I have researched as of this week, it seems like they have yet to do that so if you purchase this card, you are essentially buying a 6970 with heavy overclocking abilities and one of the best coolers in the market.
My PC specs:
Cooler Master HAF912 computer case
Core i5-2500k OC'ed to 4.3ghz
MSI P67a-C43 (rev b) motherboard
Cooler Master Hyper 212+ CPU cooler
HIS Radeon 6950 IceQ X Turbo w/ unlocked shaders & OC'ed to 950mhz/1375mhz at 1.2v
8GB (4GB x 2) of G.Skill sniper series low voltage DDR3 1600mhz RAM 8-8-8-24
Antec Current Gamer 900W Power Supply
Update:
At 950/1375mhz at 1.2v, the card would crash during BF3 after about 15-20 minutes even though it would pass Unigine's heaven benchmark without much issue. After a few more hours and tests, I found the perfect combination that has yet to crash the video card after 7+ hours of BF3.
The combination is as follows: 940/1375mhz running at 1.262v. I was able to run the card at 940/1450 but I actually noticed the performance loss with the memory portion clocked so high so the sweet spot for the memory on this card is 1375mhz. Anything over that and you start losing performance as GDDR3 starts to correct memory errors hence the performance loss.
If you are planning to run the card at those specs, I suggest you use MSI Afterburner's custom fan profile and set it the fan to hit 70% between 65-70 degrees to prevent the card from getting too hot. Yes, at that fan speed, it will get loud, but you won't notice it if you have a headset or if your speakers are on. When I am done playing BF3, I just reset the clocks back to default to cut back on heat.
