FreeTalk TALK-5115 Reviews

FreeTalk TALK-5115 Review by Barbara McRae "Barbara McRae, MCC "succes... (Santa Fe, NM)

Love the light weight and great sound of this headset. I just wish it was more comfortable; it feels tight on me...and it doesn't seem to be adjustable.

FreeTalk TALK-5115 Review by James "JimLuckett" (boxborough, ma, United States)

So much better than you have any right to expect from a $22 product with free shipping. Just amazing. The thing has 2 plugs - USB for the microphone and regular mini plug for the ear phones. So, you can plug this into your MP3 player. I was so blown away by the music fidelity, I bought another to dedicate to use with my MP3 player and cut off the microphone and the USB jack on that one with wire cutters. It's that good. You can't buy a headset for this price for listening to music that's this good.

FreeTalk TALK-5115 Review by Recovering Engineer (Portland, OR USA)

I use them for teleconferencing, and I like them. The sound is very good, and the microphone really improves sound quality for the other participants, compared to the mic in my laptop. Since they are USB, the audio amp is outside the computer case, which also makes for better sound.

They are not as comfortable as my Bose Quite Comfort noise canceling headphones, but the Bose cost more than 10 times as much -- and don't have a microphone.

I haven't tried carrying them around, Instead I bought two, one for home and one for the office. I would at least find some sort of soft pouch to protect them if I wanted to carry them.

ClearMax Two (2) EN-EL9 / ENEL9 High Capacity Batteries and Multi Voltage Charger For Nikon D40, D40x, D60, D3000, D5000 Digital SLR Cameras Review by Derek

I wanted an extra battery for the camera. Found this with two batteries and charger for a nice price. Charges quickly. From dead battery to full charge less than two hours. I can't say exact time, was busy taking pictures. Haven't tried the car plug yet, but plan on using it over the holidays.

I'd recommend to anyone who wants a spare battery or a charger.

ClearMax Two (2) EN-EL9 / ENEL9 High Capacity Batteries and Multi Voltage Charger For Nikon D40, D40x, D60, D3000, D5000 Digital SLR Cameras Review by Rafael Meneses (MIAMI, FLORIDA, US)

These little batteries are wonderful! I bought them for my Nikon D5000 because my Nikon battery and charger was failing on me so I decided to save myself a lot of money by buying some of these instead of Nikon branded batteries (they're the same, trust me, they just bear different names). These generic batteries last just as long as the Nikon batteries and the extra charger is a great benefit. The charger works in my car and at home and has not failed me. My batteries are now always charged 100% in comparison to my old Nikon charger which charged batteries halfway. If it were up to me, I'd rather these batteries and charger come packed with the Nikon itself.

Great product ,little mishap with the quantity with the batteries but was resolved in 2sec great shipping and service I would buy again from them

VTech DS6321-3 Review

VTech DS6321-3 Review by Scooby

We had bought this phone from Amazon, along with many others on the way. To compare, we tried: AT&T's TL9237 ~ $120, Uniden's ELBT595 ~ $70, and Motorola B802 ~$95.

This phone far exceeds those with more bang for your buck. It can connect up to 3 different bluetooth devices, but only 2 at a time can be active. It does a great job of downloading your phonebook from your cell, and can have your directory available on all handsets. When accessing the phonebook, you can choose which cell's directory to use, and can rename the cell phones that connect (i.e. Bob's Phone). I've had the phone for about 2 weeks, and have yet to have a dropped call, and bluetooth connection is outstanding. Very clear.

I have a Blackberry Pearl, and my wife has the Iphone. Both initially connected seamlessly and automatically connects to the phones upon entering the house. Two of the three other bluetooth cordless phones we tried had the issue: if you are on the cell phone when walking into the house it'll drop the call to connect to the base. Upon testing it with this product, there was a short moment of silence, but the call maintained connection with no problem. Excellent!

Each active device on the phones can have their own ringtone. This is very neat. One downfall of the phone is you have to set the ringer and ringer volume attributed to a connected device ON EACH HANDSET, and you can't change the ringer on the base (simple enough, turn the base ringer off). Although it was only 3 phones we had to do this to, it took less than 5 minutes and it was set and done, so not a huge deal.

Why it works for my uses... I simply wanted a bluetooth cordless phone that works. I don't need memo's (who uses those anyway?), fancy ringtones, headset jacks (this doesn't have them), or anything else. If you are simply looking to extend the talking capabilities of your cell phone to the rest of the house, then this phone is it. I can't comment on the answering machine because I don't use it. The max talking distance between handset and base is decent (when I tested it, it went through 3 walls, exterior wall, and traversed the length of my yard before a hint of static). The phone is very simple to use, and buttons are large (probably because there isn't any fancy shmancy crap on it). The handsets are lightweight, and pretty good quality (they look like they could survive a few drops). Batteries initially take about 16 hrs to charge, but man they can hold that charge. Great battery life. The speakerphone is pretty good too.

All in all, if you are simply looking for a phone to do a phones job for a lot less money, this is an excellent choice. Sorry for the essay... and major use of ().

VTech DS6321-3 Review by Lenagainster

Update 6/3/10 I have downgraded this review from five stars to one. I'd give it less than one if possible. The reason being that we upgraded our phones and the Bluetooth no longer works reliably. Disconnects sometimes after the second ring. Disconnects sometimes in the middle of a conversation, drops call, then reconnects by itself. I have tried everything imaginable over the past two weeks to get the Bluetooth to remain connected, swapping phones, deleting any missed calls on the cell, deleting Backup Assistant, swapping phones, deleting everything and starting from scratch, power cycling the phone system and the phones. Nothing helps. IMHO, the Bluetooth in the cells has been upgraded and is now incompatible with the Bluetooth in the Vtech. The Vtech cannot be upgraded. The Vtech website offers no help or insight, only a comment that the system has been tested with the cellphones I am using. Not having a reliable connection is unacceptable. The Vtech is going back.

Original review.
For those who don't like to carry their cellphone with them while at home, especially in a multi-level house, this phone system is a wonderful way to be able to answer those cell calls from anywhere in the house. A great system to have whether or not you have a landline. The sound quality is noticeably better than the 2.4 Ghz Unidens we had been using, although the Unidens were acceptable. Easy to link the Bluetooth enabled cell the first time, and the cell is automatically re-linked when the cellphone is brought back into the house as long as the cell has Bluetooth enabled. The system can handle up to 12 extensions, each extension can call another extension by selecting Intercom, and one can call out on a cell from one extension while another is using the landline on a different extension. The entire contact list from the cellphone can be uploaded and the whole list appears on each extension. A nice big screen that shows date and time, which of the two cellphones are linked, and if a line is busy. The only downsides so far are the pathetic list of ten ringtones to choose from, and the fact that the handsets cannot be named (such as living room, computer, kitchen, basement), but only handset 1, handset 2, etc. I don't find these flaws to be serious enough to downgrade my rating. I have my six handsets placed in such a way that I can easily remember what room they are in. Everything is very intuitive in using these phones. It has a built in answerer, which we have turned off, since it is more convenient for us to use voicemail.
2/8/10 Update: phones still work great, for both the landline, cell, and as an intercom. Just two things to note. Disappointed that there doesn't seem to be a way to ring all the other handsets when using the intercom. Only one at a time. So the other person is somewhere in the house, but I'm not sure where. Have to ring each handset one at a time. The other slight annoyance is that when the entire contact directory on the cellphone is uploaded to the Vtech, it replaces the existing directory. There is a slight difference in the way names and types of phones are displayed. When imported, for example, a mobile phone will show up as Jane Doe/M, (next line blank), 123-456-7890. One has to step through each entry and make corrections to display the entry as Jane Doe, <cell>, 123-456-7890. With hundreds of contacts, this can be tedious. However, it's not an operational issue and I wouldn't downgrade my rating because of it.

VTech DS6321-3 Review by Roger (San Jose, CA)

Bought the phone from Amazon. There are 3 handsets and setup of time/date etc can be done in either one, and show up in all others quickly. Voice is much better than my 5-yr old 2.5GHz v-tech phone. The keypad is relative soft and responsive.
Bluetooth devices can be paired with base. It paired easily with our two cell phones, One ATT tilt, one Sony W520, and one bluetooth headset. But only two devices can be paired in the same time and user can pick which two. Cell phones can be pretty far away from the base, in my case from one corner of the house to the base ~40 ft, but I have to keep the headsets closer ~15 ft. Directory from my cellphone is uploaded easily, and it keeps the directories from different phone separate and I can pick which one to use, which is nice.
It does not have a headset jack in handset! which can be useful for long meeting/talk, that's the reason of one missing star. I have to use bluetooth headset instead, and stay closer to base, since only base can pair with bluetooth device. It does not have handset clip as in my old vtech phone, but I rarely use it.

HP 92274A Review by me

Arrived in a timely manner just as described. Loved being able to get this replacement without having to drive two hours to the nearest store that carries it. Price was excellent.

HP 92274A Review by Eric Jones "ejones" (Tulsa, OK)

The title says it all. The product came promptly and in a new sealed box as I expected. I would recommend doing business with this supplier to anyone.

HP 92274A Review by JB Gilbert (Houston, TX USA)

I purchased this toner cartridge for a 20-year-old hp LaserJet 4P. I highly recommend brand-name hp toner for hp machines, and would not risk buying off-brand or remanufactured toners.

As long as this product is available, I can continue to use my old printer for light duty black & white printing to supplement my newer, high-tech color inkjet and LED printers.

Kingston SD10G2/16GB Review by Sentow (De Pere, WI United States)

Using Flash Memory Tool 2.01, I compared this class 10 card to a Kingston 8gb/class 6 and see the write speed on the class 10 is almost twice as slow as the class 6! Also compared it to a Transcend 16 class 10 and found it to be 3 times slower. I won't be purchasing any Kingston products from now on.

Kingston SD10G2/16GB Review by Doug

Don't buy it, unless you really don't need a class 10 card. It's so slow you can't even use it for ReadyBoost on your PC, let alone use it for video or a fast camera. To label this a class 10 card is deceptive advertising.

Using Windows Command line winsat to run speed checks on this card I discovered a Read speed of 0.45MB/s and a Write speed of only 0.39MB/s. This is so far off the minimum required speeds for the class that there's no way this card can be legitimately called a class 10.

Kingston SD10G2/16GB Review by mepster

These cards are not class 10 speed. My camera needs only class 6 to record video. Ordered this card, camera gives message "the recording has been stopped automatically" - this means the buffer has filled, the card cannot keep up. Returned card (Amazon does free exchange). Received second card. Same problem! This time I missed the 30 day Amazon return window because I was on vacation (taking pictures!). Feel ripped off. Have not had trouble with previous Kingston cards, just with this model (twice!). (P.S. Camera works fine with other card (at least class 6).)

Either Kingston has a problem, or Amazon is getting duped by a counterfeit supplier - Amazon you should look into it.

Kingston's SDHC Ultimate Class 10 is designed for amateur and professional photographers who need faster speeds to keep pace with their evolving equipment. It allows users to easily capture sequential shots that used to be a challenge due to the speed limitations of memory cards. With speeds up to 20MB/s read and 15MB/s write, the SDHC Ultimate Class 10 is ideal for anyone who uses their digital equipment for serious photography or video and makes it easy to capture HD video.

Factory-Reconditioned Black & Decker LE750R EDGEHOG 2-in-1 Landscape Edger Consumer Report

Factory-Reconditioned Black & Decker LE750R EDGEHOG 2-in-1 Landscape Edger Review by Jaime A. Escolar (OROVILLE, CA, US)

Can't go wrong when you acquire and use this tool. Does a very good job "I'm very
happy and satisfied".

Factory-Reconditioned Black & Decker LE750R EDGEHOG 2-in-1 Landscape Edger Review by Micky G Keck (Cincinnati)

Assembly of the edger was quick and easy, about 10 minutes to have it in working order. My wife is the main user of this edger, so the light weight was a big plus, Our yard had overgrown the driveway sidewalk in many areas, and it was quite thick, so I had some concerns that an electric edger would be powerful enough to get the job done. Fortunately there was no problem in the power department as the edger cut through the over-growth in only a few passes. In the end, it did exactly what I needed it to do, edge the sidewalk without a lot of weight or complexity.

I should note that if I did know that this item was reconditioned I never would have known, it looked just like a new model out of the box.

Factory-Reconditioned Black & Decker LE750R EDGEHOG 2-in-1 Landscape Edger Review by Saints Fan (Baton Rouge LA)

I was installing back yard landscaping on a tight budget, and bought the Edgehog for the trenching function. The factory reconditioned model saved me $40 and it was in like-new condition when it arrived. It was very easy to assemble. I used it to cut a trench around my new back yard flower beds to install landscape edging. It did not dig deep enough to completely bury my four inch edging, but with two or three runs over each area it broke up the soil enough to make it fairly easy for my volunteer crew of friends to use a spade and push the edging all the way in. I ran the trencher, and found it very easy to use. The tradeoff of a gasoline motor for a cord is worth it for someone who hates wrestling with pull starts. The Edgehog is designed so the cord does not get in the way. I have some issues with my lower back and even my battery powered string trimmer gets tiring after awhile. The Edgehog rests on the ground and is easy to use. I am going to use it for several other projects, including redoing the edging around my front flower beds, and breaking soil for a French drain. I have friends who want to borrow it. I would definitely buy this product again. It would be worth it at the full price. I would give it five stars if the blade were longer.

iLuv I603BLK Reviews

iLuv I603BLK Review by Experienced Techie (North Carolina)

This battery works like a charm for the 30GB model. It fits snuggly in the case and it is definitely protected. The battery is somewhat bulky, but it's thickness is roughly two ipods stacked on each other. As big as this is, isn't very heavy. I use this on a daily basis and the performance is just as advertised. You can see the charging staus via a LED light on the side of the battery. It also charges your ipod at the same time. This product was well worth buying.

iLuv I603BLK Review by Thomas Loveman (Cleveland, OH USA)

The i603 is a great add-on battery. It's easy to use and, while I don't have any data on battery life, when using it, I've never run out of juice. The case itself is nice, providing a soft, durable skin to your iPod, although there is no built-in screen protector as that's where you insert the iPod into the sleeve. The touch wheel is protected though but works perfectly through the thin skin over it. It's easily charged by any USB 2 docking cable, but also comes with it's own wall adapter, sans cable itself. Considering the added power is great for watching a lot of video on trips, I wish it came with a stand, although I found that the kick stand that came with a hard case I have fits over the i603. And it has no belt clip or place to attach a cord. It's almost like the i603 needs it's own line of accessories. But all that is superficial as it does everything it promises.

iLuv I603BLK Review by rb charger (DC)

The fact that my battery can last multiple times longer on a charge is a no-brainer.
Seeing the battery at "full" for a longer time than I'm use to was fantastic.
Yes the battery makes the ipod a bit bulky and the charge time is longer but it
doesn't bother me one bit compared to the expanded amount of playing hours.
Long as I can make less recharges than necessary it makes this purchase worth while.

Siemens SS2602 Review

Siemens SS2602 Review by

I'm no computer newbie. As a computer professional I was looking to buy a cheap, easy router to hook up. This proved to be quite the opposite. Slow, unresponsive firmware, coupled with ineffective and ignorant service = major frustration.

This is the worst product you can buy for such a simple task.

DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT

Siemens SS2602 Review by Scott Reimers (Reno NV)

This little box has all the power of a 3com, netgear (3/4times as expensive) or a dlink (twice as expensive).

It only has two ports, but will work with up to 254 computers like a dlink or netgear. I have multiple 2-15 computer networks running off this little box and it's been performing flawlessly.

It's MUCH more friendly than a sonicwall or 3com though a little less userfriendly than a dlink, but any semicompetent tech with a basic understanding of ip and firewalls would have an easy time setting it up if they RTDM (Read The D$*# Manual).

Never needed tech support so I can't say how that is.

All of this is from the point of view of a tech who understands about NAT, firewalls and other semi-basic network knowledge. If you're a novice looking for a simple setup you might be able to get away with this if you Read the instructions, but I'd recommend hiring a tech and saving yourself a lot of trouble if you don't really want to spend time learning about the geek terminology.

Siemens SS2602 Review by

I have been using this router for about 3 weeks now and it has been working great. The setup was easy and I was up and running in about 15 minutes. Technical Support is exceptional as they are open 24/7. I called on a Saturday afternoon to setup my router for online gaming and was surprised to find that I got right through and the help was great. They answered all my questions and were very knowledgeable. Total satisfaction.

KitchenAid KCM111OB Review by RVAA

I bought this coffee pot as a temporary replacement (while I wait on a part for my Cuisinart Grind/Brew so I can go back to that one). It was the least expensive "decent" coffeepot that was available in the store for immediate purchase at BB & B. I was intrigued by the KitchenAid brand, as I know their large kitchen appliances are good (my mom has used them forever), but I had never seen a coffee pot by them. We have had several Cuisinart coffee makers over the years and they are good, but most have needed replacement after about 2-3 years. So, anyway, I got this machine home and went online to see the reviews (this was the one machine that I had NOT already read the reviews on before going to the store) and was worried after reading all the horror stories about the leaking and mess. But, hubby needed his coffee at 4:30 this morning, so I went ahead and opened it up to give it a shot. I read the manual and took it out of the box, removed the packaging stuff and set it on the counter. I washed the stuff you are supposed to and when I went to rinse the carafe, I think I stumbled on something that might be causing some of those other reviewers a problem. I filled the carafe at the sink just as if the machine were dripping coffee into the top of the carafe lid. (A medium/small drizzle of water directly onto the "bubble" top of the carafe.) It was an interesting experiment that demonstrated that if the carafe was not almost perfectly level, or the water didn't flow almost directly straight onto the middle of the bubble top, then it ran off the sides of the carafe lid. So I wonder... if perhaps some of those folks have a countertop that is slightly less than level. I know in our first home, I had countertops that were not level. Not noticeable most of the time, but it would have probably been enough to cause this issue with this pot. Also, after paying careful attention to that, and seeing that the depressed area around the "bubble" of the lid is rather small and that the REST of the lid is completely flat I set the carafe into the coffee maker. And noticed that if you don't have the handle oriented to the direct front of the machine (if it is turned to either side) it pushes the pot out just slightly enough that the proper angle is not achieved with the bubble top and the bottom of the brew basket.... in other words, the coffee will end up dripping off to the side of the bubble enough that it will run off the lid (because it will flow outside the little depression around the bubble). If the handle is to the front, then the coffee flows straight down onto the top of the bubble thingee and it works perfectly.

I also practiced (can't believe I am even typing this) pouring from the carafe over the sink with just water as I was washing/rinsing the carafe. There was not one single drip. No matter how fast or slowly I poured. So I don't understand the problem others are having. Maybe after some use the carafe seal will become damaged or something, but for now, I couldn't ask for anything more!

I ran the original water only cycle to rinse/clean the machine for first time use. Then set it up for a pot of coffee. Hubby turned it on this morning in the wee hours (like 5 a.m.) and then after making his cup, poured the rest into the thermal carafe (from our Cuisinart) so it would stay warm for me, since I wasn't going to be up until closer to 8:00 a.m. He didn't leave it on the warmer at all... just straight into the carafe. I poured my first cup around 8:45 a.m. this morning and it was still hot. :)) And tasted pretty good... I will have to tweak it a little, but that is the amount of grounds to use, not an issue with the coffee pot itself. Anyone who says it isn't hot, must have a different machine that what was inside our box.

As for dripping/leaks from the carafe... I guess only time will tell. But I had NO water or coffee anywhere except in the carafe where it belongs.
So, make sure your counter is level, and make sure you orient the carafe into the machine with the handle in the front (not to the sides) and I don't think you should have any problems. I think it works great! And was certainly worth the $68 I paid for it (after the BB&B 20% off coupon).

KitchenAid KCM111OB Review by Heather Schultz

My husband and I have been looking for a coffee pot with only one feature: removable water tank. After reading reviews, we purchased the Kitchen Aid 12-cup Glass Carafe Coffee Maker. We've had it for a week, but are already reaping the benefits of the numerous features (besides the removable tank). Setup is a cinch - plug it in, add water and coffee, push the 'Brew' button, and you're good to go. I was disappointed to learn that you CAN'T change the time while coffee is brewing. There are features for brew strength (Reg and Bold), you can choose how long to keep the heating element on (and it will tell you how long coffee has been sitting in the pot!), there's a program function, it automatically shuts off after 2 hours (default setting - can change to 4 hours if needed), and the cord retracts into the base if you don't want all of it hanging out. It will brew 14 cups of coffee in about 10 minutes.

There are a couple of dislikes (I won't call them negatives; I would still purchase this if I knew about them). I don't like that there is a somewhat cumbersome sequence that must be gone through to program the coffee maker - my last one was very straightforward (push program, choose time, push start twice for timer to be activated) - and I believe I will need to use the book the first half dozen or so times just until I get the pattern down. Also, the filter basket is accessed through the front of the coffee maker (a door swings out, from above the carafe, and the basket comes out). That's all well and fine, but the maker also features a 'pause' mechanism that sits on the bottom of the basket (in case you can't wait for the full pot to be completed), so when you try to set it down to add the coffee, it doesn't sit flat.

Overall, we really like that is has a removable tank, the mechanism to load the coffee seems sturdy enough to withstand thousands of openings/closings, and my parents, who have used Bunn coffee pots for the past 15 years or so, threatened to take it last time they were out for a visit.

KitchenAid KCM111OB Review by Jim H. (Brookings Oregon USA)

The best description I can use for this coffee maker is "quixotic." Positives - makes great coffee; carafe is well supported structurally especially at the top and I can get my hand inside to clean it; carafe does not drip when pouring coffee; removable water reservoir is convenient; has nice contemporary styling; brewing is relatively quiet; heats brewing water to a good hot temperature; and warming plate keeps coffee good and hot.

Negatives - if opening brewing compartment lid after brewing with the carafe not in place condensation runs down all over the warming plate; opening the brewing compartment lid after brewing also results in dripping onto the top of the machine and some may run down the side and can be difficult to dry if it runs underneath; brew set function is truly quixotic - if setting to automatic within a couple of hours of the machine being shut off from previously brewing it works as per the instructions but if one waits much more than that before using the brew set button it takes anywhere from one to three attempts to get it it set to auto or even to start brewing another pot without the auto setting (the first machine I got did this and when I exchanged it the second one does the same); white water level marks on water reservoir can be difficult to see when filling; and the plastic rim which supports the top of the carafe retains coffee and water after supposedly emptying it and continues to do so for some time even after repeated attempts to dry it in the process of washing it out.

Overall, one would feel that this relatively pricey coffee maker would be rather faultless and better designed, given that my wife's KitchenAid mixer is so and is powerful enough to mix cement. Our previous Hamilton Beach coffee maker with removable water reservoir cost $23 and lasted 12 years, and was trouble and fault free until it finally died. This KitchenAid machine needs design changes to make it truly worth its cost as well as consistent in operation. Still, its advantages make it reasonably useful for us.

Followup: After about a month and a half of use with the second of these coffee makers my wife pressed the "Brew" button and it stuck firmly in the pressed-in position, making the coffee maker unusable. I could not pry the button out to its proper position even when using a jeweler's screwdriver. Using the (thankfully!) one-year guarantee I phoned KitchenAid and they are to send a replacement and have me return the defective one at no charge.

Followup about followup: Cheers for KitchenAid's warranty service. Phoning them on their toll-free number resulted in a new machine delivered to our West Coast door within a week. This replacement (our third of these coffeemakers) has the same quirks as the others except that it is more consistent when pressing the "Brew" button, even though still not working as per the instructions.

Lexar Media 128 MB Memory Stick Product reviews

Lexar Media 128 MB Memory Stick Review by

I took just 3 days for me to get my order !! Lexar stick memory 128-MB works just like the Sony brand, but it's half price cheaper. It's also fully compatible with my Sony digital camera DSC-P71. I would recommend everyone to buy Lexar memory sticks. Why pay more for Sony brand???????????

Lexar Media 128 MB Memory Stick Review by Michael P. Hussey Jr. "gold standard" (New York, NY USA)

I own two memory sticks, one Sony, one Lexar. There is no discernable difference in speed or reliability. My suggestion is to purchase whichever one costs less - and that typically is the Lexar.

Lexar Media 128 MB Memory Stick Review by Juan Ortuno (Hialeah, FL)

I recently bought a Sony DSC-71 digital camera, which came with a Sony Memory Stick of 16 MB. I was thinking about upgrading right away to something larger, like a 64 MB and was looking at prices. Then I found this one, 128 MB and was cheaper than the Sony, and the reviews were mostly positive.
I decided to try it and haven't regret it. I am currently using that with my digital camera, and works perfect...I don't even think that's not Sony.
I'd recommend it to anyone considering to buy a Sony Memory Stick. It's cheaper, and does the same job, at least in my case and what I need it for.
