We have an unusual house with our bedrooms and bathrooms in the basement. Neither of the bathrooms have windows so we keep a dehumidifier in each one. This dehumidifier is so much quieter and runs less while keeping the humidity down. If I could I would replace the other one in a heartbeat. Another plus is that it also doesn't heat up the room as much as our other one did/does. One last thing is that it is more compact and takes up way less space than our older one.

This dehumidifier is used primarily in my bedroom and has helped in reducing the musty moldy smell that has been a constant problem since buying this house four years ago. However it has not worked as I expected or hoped. Even when I have run it constantly it only reduces the humidity level to fifty-eight percent. When a dry air mass moves into the area and I open the windows the humidity level drops to forty percent.
The water bin makes an annoying vibrating noise when it is running and stops when touched but then resumes. Also I don't like the fact that my bedroom becomes way overheated when the dehumidifier is run for any length of time.
I would have to say this Frigidaire dehumidifier is better than nothing but has not lived up to my expectations or full needs.

I read the reviews for this product on Amazon as well as others and I thought this dehumidifier would be best for the size of my place (700 sq feet)and the cost. The dehumidifier came quicker then I expected and though the box looked dented and worn inside the packaging was fine and the dehumidifier did not show any dents or scratches. I live in a garden level apartment and the humidity level was close to 80%, after plugging the dehumidifier in and letting it run fairly constantly it's closer to 65%, a much more acceptable level. I have to empty the water reservoir at least once every 24 hours depending on the weather outside. Other reviews had said there was a rattling noise, I will get that occasionally but after resetting the water reservoir the rattling stops. The one down side is there is a black soot like discoloring on the right side inside draw of where the water collects, but it does not rub off as soot or a scuff mark would. All in all I am very happy with this purchase as my apartment is now SO much more comfortable.
